Fished Pineview last night from 4til8:30. First skunk of the year
Used a 4' night light dropped through a hole and fished a piece of submerged road structure east of Browning point. On my vex the crappie would rise up when I rattled my buckshot spoon. After a few moments they would lose interest and drift off the screen. I was fishing an edge 20' deep adjoining a drop off to 28'. On my camera there was a lot of plankton but no minnows. Good luck. The edges were solid and the slush was frozen.

I was thinking I could just drop a couple of glow sticks down a hole and see what happens

You never know, I have heard of guys doing that while Burbot fishing as Wyoming does not allow artificial lights. Let me know if it works.

Is there a jelly or anything that makes your bait glow besides a glow stick for tube jigs?

I've tried ice fishing with a mini glowstick ONCE and it didn't do anything for me.

I do know that the chemical glow sticks (the ones that you have to snap to activate) are affected by cold. The colder it is, the less they glow. I wonder if the cold water would make a big enough difference as to inhibit the glow strength.
