#1
I think I'm getting really sick right now that I haven't been up the uinta mountain slaying some fish up there.

Does anyone know if the road conditions is good up too lily lake yet or any prediction when we will be able to get up there with our cars? Thanks for the info and I'm itching too get into some nice hikes this year.

Snowpack in the Weber-Bear- Provo River drainages are 80-90% of average. If that continues think very late May to early June to drive up close enough to have an easy hike in. They plow to the gates at Soapstone after each storm. Can always hit the river there or below if you get antsy. Either that or get a snowmobile.

Ya I wish I had a snowmobile but a teen can dream of that for another 10 years ha ha ha. Would you know how much snow is impacted past the soap stone so far???

I haven't been up to Soapstone area for about 10 days. Probable a good 2 feet was on the ground then. Snotel lists 46 inches up at Trial Lake http://www.wcc.nrcs.usda.gov/nwcc/sntl-d...7&state=ut
When that gets down to a foot or less in the spring at Trial Lake you can usually drive up at least close enough to reach the lakes with less than an hour's hike or ski in. If you aren't willing to do the work it'll usually be drivable all the way in 7-10 days of that.
Some big cutts will be spawning probable a month before that if you take the time to find them. Once you do the work they show up the same places every year. Easiest time to find bigger browns as well. After that you have to wade through tons of stunted brookies to find anything of size.

Ya no problem. I'm stocked too find those 17" + tigers out of my secret lake ha ha ha. I'm just going to be even happy too float tube in lilly lake for all those crazy tiger trouts. Lets hope for a hard hit Lilly pad season in the lakes up there.

I hope I get a gps this year so I can go one some nice like hikes and one of my favorite brookie and tiger spot and don't get lost for 2 - 4 hrs ha ha ha.

As well when the snow melts in spring it's time too hit for some grayling and maybe a nice brookies and cutty at round lake. Fun hike especially with how rock it is and I just imagine that this year will be worse. [Tongue]

The fishing was great, it was seriously every cast for my son. He caught fish while I scouted for mountain goats. Not the biggest fish we have ever caught but some of the best memories with my son.

Ya it's such a great place but it's Sad that those stupid beetles are killing the pine trees. Every year it just keep getting worse. I remember as a little kid it was amazing with no dead trees and now it's just Sad how such a great place is dying bit by bit and soon will be gone.
