I didn't measure the perch. It had some meat on it. lol.

That sucks no real winter out there. The weeks right before christmas are the worst for us here waiting to get that shack out... We had ours out and ready by Jan 1st... but to tell ya the truth the ice was not as thick as expected and we did see someone's shack go through. We have had quite the up and down winter and it was a slow start for ice build up. we were not able to drive out on the ice till almost feb. now there is at least a 20 inches of ice. WOW

here is some V-day ice fishing fun

20 inches is not much, we bearly have 12 here, I am used to haveing more like 20-30 here..

we didnt step foot out on the ice till mid jan here.. I can remember the days when I could go ice fishing in november.. hope those days are not gone for good.

I managed one perch so far this year. you could have used it for bait to catch bait for your pike.

The fish on my lakes dont seem to be where they are susposed to be this year for some reason as well...

looking forward to a normal winter next year. susposed to be fewer sunflair eruptions this year.

on the up side, I am up to 7 pike this year... well that is 7 of any quality size.

ya it was an odd year for us too. We went back out again on the 18th brought home two pickerel/walleye and two perch and two pike... i did very pooly cleaning the pike... I've never cleaned them nor will I gain. lol..

The ice was cracking and popping the whole time we were out there.. when we went to leave.. there was a pressure crack that had spread open up. We are lucky to get the car off the ice.

Good to hear you caught some fish. How far did you dive the car out onto the ice?
A group of us got out ice fishing yesterday and caught over 300 hundred perch, two walleye and a trout. None of the perch were over 10" but it was a great day on the ice[Smile].

ya we drove the car out. wasn't too bad. going out but comming back in was tricky. That was our last drive out.. If we go one more time we will walk out to the shack.

Sounds like you had a great day. Thats a lot of perch [Smile]

wow, how do you plan on getting the shack back to shore?..

I am not to fond of those presure cracks..
I was on lake st clair some years back, I walked past several cracks looking for a little deaper water, didnt find any but decided I was out far enough from shore "more than a mile" drilled a hole and sat there to fish.

while sitting there a preasure crack lifted up right under my bucket throwing me backwards on to the ice... it could have just as easily opened up and swalled me and no one would have known what happened to me.

those cracks are some scarry stuff. every year I hear about guys floating off in saganaw bay.
