Hit scofield yesterday with catman, j-13 and tyota, fishing was awesome! Catching not so awesome... the normal 2 hr and 15 min drive turned into a 3.5 hr snail crawl following snow plows and slick roads.
Upon arrival we were greeted with a lake with about 10-14" of snow, not the easiest conditions to drag a sled full of gear.
We started in 16' fow caught a couple dinks, after an hr or so we went in search of deeper water. Walking 100 yards east west , north and south we found similar depths, we packed up camp and made a move of about 300 yards looking for a drop off after drilling many holes we found 24' fow. We set up camp and caught dinks til 4pm then called it a day
4 of us probably iced over 50 together but nothing bigger than 15". All but 3 or 4 fish were cuts the others were a tiny rainbow and some fat chubs.
almost all fish were caught in the 6-10 fow range with a couple coming just under the ice and a few right on bottom.
