Father in law and sister came down from boise to go ice fishing this weekend so with few good reports coming from anywhere, we decided on close and easy.
Hit Deer Creek in the morning and couldn't find the fish to save our lives. We punched holes from 15' to 60' and couldn't find anything on the finder. Little sis caught one 8" planter bow and a good looking 16" male bow in spawning colors. That was it for the morning but thanks to bacon and hashbrowns in the tent we had a great time.
We picked up and moved over to the PWC ramp at jordanelle and went for a hike. Set up in 25' of water and instantly were into perch! we caught a few good 8" ones and tons of little dinks but everybody caught fish and had a good time. Makes me wonder why we drove 2.5 hours to starvation so many times this year! My dad caught one perchzilla that went 10+ inches and was full of eggs, never seen a perch so big!
Ice was safe at both lakes
