Jordanelle 2-17
#1
After weighing my options on some Sunday perchin' I chose Jordy. Well, not a terrible decision, but not everything I hoped for. Moved around a little to find a school. Once they were located it was non-stop in about 20 FOW. Problem was, majority of them were 3-5 inches with the occasional 6-7 incher. After messing with them for a while, I moved on to try and find larger fish. Three more stops, manually drilling through plenty of ice with the same result. Tried deeper off the areas I was catching them and seems like out to 40 feet was the same story. Once I would reach 50... nothing not even a nibble. So, I figured I would fish in shallower to get back down quicker if the results would be the same. I fished for about 4 hours, landed easily 200 perch (did count the first 100, then it got ridiculous). Kept 7 that were "kinda filletable", which went between 7 1/2"-9". Plus side, the action would slow for a bit once in a while (no bite in 30-45 seconds) and it was usally a nice sized trout coming in munching the tiny perch up. Caught a few smaller bows, and these two nice trout (1 cutty, 1 bow). Also, had a brown on that I got up to the hole (actually nose out of the hole by about 2", that I would have easily rather caught than these two, but he broke me off trying to slide him out the hole. Oh well, and did I mention it was WINDY. Holy man, broke my Quick fish trying to pop it up, the top hub pulled right through the fabric.
Fun times.

Ya, off the main boat ramp. I walked across to the other side of the lake, but it was no different. Might have even been a little slower, so I came back. I got into perch everywhere I tried except my first stop, but that was 49 feet deep. Every time I tried over 40, I got nothing.

I am heading down there this weekend with my scouts, so if you could tell me any good info or what to use to catch perch would help me and my boys out a lot!!! I am also trying to find a good tent to buy so they dont have to deal with the wind. Any body know of where I can get a good deal from? I have 2 brand new ping pong tables, a industrial 6 step lapper and some nice industrial lights that I could trade for a tent.
