Well I don't know what you guys do on your 20th Anniversary, but I spent mine on the ice! Mamma said she wanted a fish fry and I was happy to oblige.
Headed to Starvy with a friend to try our luck on some jumbo perch for the fryer and a slimer or two for the smoker. Javelin18 was kind enough to offer some GPS coords to get us started. Found the area and started drilling holes around 9:00, found the school by 9:30, and stayed with them until 2:00 when we had to leave.
About 11:00 a gentleman named Don and his neice Amber came out to try their luck. We invited them to join us as we had the school located. That turned out to be a bonus. Don's fishfinder took a crap, so he couldn't tell when the fish were moving on so we partnered up to keep on them. Don would do the drilling and we'd use the Vexilar to keep us on top of the school. It was great teamwork that produced 150-160 perch for dinner and an almost 3-ish pound slimer that Amber lost half way through the hole.
My friend and I brought back a little over 70 perch, and Don and Amber were definately holding their own. That Amber can FISH!
Got home in time to take my beloved out to dinner. Good day all around!
