Fished the Berry today with a friend. Got out a little later then planned and headed to the Soldier Creek ramp but that wasn't happening. Too much recent snow kept us packing and heading for the Ladders. Tent was up by 8 and fish was on within seconds of dropping. As luck would have it, it was one of them notorious days where you catch 1 instantly and high hopes are in the forecast but things just dropped off the table after that. Ended the day with only a few fish. Had the camera and the flasher today and I bet we didn't see more then ten fish all day long. None seemed spooked or timid. Only a couple fish came and gave the lures an honest look. Caught 2 fish on a watta-cricket, and the other on a rat finkee. 2 were small bows and one was a 20" Cutt. All were released. Started in 13 feet of water finished in 23' of water. Most all fish were marked within the last hour of us fishing around noon. Fish cop came around on a snowmobile checking licenses while we were loading up and stated fishing on the Strawberry side has been dead today. Of the 3 groups that were there in the Ladders she stated 2 groups had caught 1 fish and the other group had been skunked. Slow day but weather was unbelievable.
