Had a little time yesy\terday so I headed up to Rockport. The main objective was to try and find some of those chunkier perch. Fished in 43 feet of water and set one pole at the depth the trout were cruising and then went to the bottom with the other. Didnt find the bigger perch but managed 18 that averaged 8 inches, had a couple at 71/2 at a couple just over 9. Picked up 4 trout to go with them. Trout were from 13-17 inches. Wasnt fast and furious but good enough to keep me from getting bored. Ice was about 15 inches thick and when I left at 1:30 the edges out about 2 feet were thin.

Congrats on the fish. This is my first year ice fishing, in the past I've just been a Flaming Gorge junky in warm weather. I went to Rockport for the first time about a month or so ago. Caught a couple of healthy trout 16" and 18" and a handful of perch, nothing big though. I've been back up there twice in the last 3 weeks and haven't had much success. Some of the other lakes around that I have tried have been ok though.
