what kind of smoker grills do you have?
#1
I have a traeger grill and love it. I have added a smoke daddy to it for when i get my temp up and still want the hardcore smoke going.

I have had a couple of the brinkman grill and like them to, but the traeger with the wood pellets alway does the job

Mine is a Brinkman. I'd call it a kettle style even though it is about 30-36 inches tall. It was given to me, so no complaints there.[Smile]

If I had a complaint it would be that it gets a little hotter than I'd like and I can't temper it down. It does get plenty of smoke flavor cooked into my meats very quickly though, so I'm not sure the high heat is a real issue. I just cook it for a shorter time. Then if I want some slow cooking I just move it to the oven in the house.

I have a weber propane with the smoker tray and also have a old metal fridge I converted. I have done turkeys in both as well as other meats and probably will use the weber unless its a lot of things I am smoking.

Did you make it electric or is it wood heated? also how hard is it to maintain a steady temp?

I use a 2 burner propane stove in the bottom compartment, where the drip pan would be and it has held it's temp well every time I have used it.

LOL that looks just like my setup - including all stuff you got stored in it. I run with a single burner and have had great luck with it over the years.
