Hit the ogden today. As soon as I get to the river, the first big pool I get to I see the fish are feeding on emergers like mad. So I tie on my favorite emerger pattern, hands shaking with delight. When I'm finished tying my fly on I get ready to cast and see that a worm chukker was moved into the head of the hole and put the fish down. Not knowing were he had been fishing I moved on ahead to give him the space we all deserve on the river. Didn't come across any more fish keyed in on a hatch, but had a pretty good day anyway. Ended up catching about 10 fish. One fat 15 inch brown, the rest standard ogden 10-12 inch fish. The warm sun and fresh snow made for some beautiful weather.

From what i have heard right in town is the place to go. Possible to hook into a big brown.. possible. Canyon seems interesting but there is too much private ground. Been wanting to try my luck in town one of these days.

Ditto Kochanut, I don't mind fishing the Odgen through town. Lorin Farr park in between Harrison and Washington. Also Buenaventura just as you're coming into town on 24th from I-15. Access is super easy, and there are enough trees around that you can *ahem* almost pretend you're not in Ogden.

I like to fish the Ogden River from Harrison Boulevard all the way up to Pineview reservoir. I prefer fishing the canyon but it is difficult to access right now because of road construction. The canyon is prettier, there's more fish, and bigger fish in the canyon but the Parkway is also great fishing. The Parkway is the section from Harrison Blvd to the mouth of the canyon. Fish can be spooky, you just have to wade cautiously, use as little weight as possible, and use as small an indicator as to not splash when you cast. There is a fish behind every rock, so fish with confidence. Access on private property isnt much of an issue. The spring bwo hatch is one of the funnest times to fish here, think wd40.

I should clarify that the parkway runs from the canyon then almost all the way to I-15. The section that I preffer is from Harrison Blvd. then east to the canyon.

Pretty sure Fort Buenaventura is the Weber River. But I do find it interesting both places in Ogden you like to fish are well known places gentlemen park and wait to meet other gentlemen for extra curicular activities.

Really? Wow, well THAT'S embarrasing. Funny though. Like I said, they're secluded. And access is easy. LOL.
