So Fork Clearwater Steelies
#1
I have been up to the So Fork Clearwater several times in years past I will be headed up in a few weeks. Just wondering what the fish numbers are lookin like and water, Snow Pack. In years past it has been pretty high and just wondering if someone has a little info on maybe a different area near by to try?? In case we are forced to abandon ship. Who has been fishing?

We hit it for 3 days last week and pulled a perfect skunk.... Had a big cold front while there that killed the bite... Guys in boats were landing a few on the Clearwater... The southfork was actually running pretty low according to to local townies... New report out indicates fishing has picked up. Good luck [Wink]

When she starts pumping 500-800cfs is when it gets good. Anything above that gets interesting.

Pray for rain.

We were up two weekends ago, Outfitter hole hit two fish in twenty minutes did not touch a fish the rest of the day. One jigs Black body white head and the other drift fishing small corkie with flavored yarn. Pulled camp and went to Orofino and hit 9 more the next day. Most fish were in the Orofino area it seemed. Saw a guy hit 5 fish in 7 casts below the spillway in the pole yard, he was not sharing secrets.

I am having a hard time replying. Anyway thanks guys. 5 fish in 7 casts wow I need to go with him!! My count is more like 5 fish in 7 years and 9000 casts. Hopeing to catch one on a jig or bobber this year it would be a first. Mostly cast flies south of Harpster. I really don't know any of the areas your talking about but will try and find out. Can a guy access the river in the Indian Res leagally? I would like to try some areas between Koosike and Harpster??? Any info will help. I just love getting up there.
