Starvation Virgin
#1
I'm headed to Starvation for the first time and was just wondering what was working and where the best spot might be to catch some trout. PM if you don't want your secret let out. Thanks for any help! [Smile]

Rumors are that Rabbit Gulch is where the trout are and I suggest maniac gazillas for bait. My experience with trout is that they are generally only 5-10' below the ice but last time (month and a half ago) I was at Starvation they were randomly throughout the entire water column on the electronics. Good luck

We have been fishing North of the bridge and done well on trout. I think they are everywhere in the lake. They seem to be crusing around from 10-20 feet down. Tip whatever jig you use with a piece of crawler for good results.

about this time of year the perch can be shallow at bunny gulch. drill a hole and look down the hole in about 15 feet of water sometimes schools will be piled in there. kind of fun to sight fish for them.

Thanks for all the information guys. Have you had the best success jigging or dead sticking it? What colors are working the best for the maniacs? I bought their variety pack and it has a ton of different baits in different colors.

Yes you can catch them trout just about anywhere on the lake. A good depth to try is about 10 -15 feet down. I don't know what colors you got in the variety pack from maniac but the pink glo and the orange glo work excellant. The "One Stop" in Heber has an excellant supply of colors. In gizzy, gazilla's, and cutter bugs. He also sales the premium hook that is made for them grubs. If you haven't tried them I highly recommend them they are sharp. Next just make sure your drag is set cause them 19-20 inchers will want to take some line before you get them up. Good luck to you and your crew.
