Went to willow beach around 2 just to kinda get used to my new kayak.Did do a little fishing for trout with not much luck, but seen the biggest smallmouth bass i have ever seen the thing must have been 9lbs.It swam right under my kayak in about 10ft of water.I threw my spinner right in front of it and it did not even look at.I was pretty pissed after that.I did see a guy on a jon boat catching small striper on a 6inch hudd swimbait, next time i go out i am going to bring the bass and striper gear.

What!?! Are you SURE it was a Smallie!?! haha. Mohave holds some bigguns but to my limited knowledge they aren't seen upriver very often, if at all. At 9lbs I guess it would be fairly safe from the pig stripers known to inhabit the area. Perhaps the water temps brought it upriver for an early spawn.

That would be a sight. My guess is that it was a carp. Not calling you a liar, just extremely unlikely that a giant smallie is swimming around willow beach. Nothing is impossible though!

I am 100% sure it was a smallie,I got a great look at it too. There was also about a million carp up near the hatchery but that is nothing.
