BENTON, Ky. - Nominations are now being accepted for positions on the Professional Anglers Association (PAA) Board of Directors. Nominees must be PAA Tour or Legends level members in good standing and willing to accept the responsibilities of serving on the Board.
Board member responsibilities include soliciting and receiving input from members, and considering, discussing and voting on matters related to PAA's finances, schedule, membership and other topics.
Three seats will be available following the end of the terms for Dave Mansue of Texas, Mike McClelland of Arkansas and Chad Morgenthaler of Illinois. "These gentlemen have been instrumental in guiding PAA forward during their terms of service on the PAA Board. All three have gone above and beyond the call of service. Mansue served two years as Treasurer (2009-2010 and 2010-2011) and two years as President of PAA (2011-2012 and 2012-2013). McClelland served as Secretary this past year. Morgenthaler has served as Vice President (2009-2010) and President (2010-2011). I join the entire membership in thanking them for the time, effort and dedication to the PAA." said PAA Office Manager Lisa Bell.
"I would like to urge all PAA Tour and Legends members to thoughtfully consider serving on the Board of Directors. As the only organization that is angler owned and angler driven, PAA needs anglers to be active and involved in PAA business or to nominate someone you believe will be beneficial to the PAA, its cause, its membership and bass fishing. Our future depends on your participation," said PAA President Dave Mansue.
Voting for the new Board members will be limited to PAA Tour and Legends level members only. Nominations for the three vacancies may be submitted to the PAA Office beginning today, Monday, March 4, 2013 and will be accepted through the close of business on Friday, March 15, 2013.
Elections will be held starting Monday, March 18, 2013 and will end at 5:00 p.m. CDT on Friday, March 29, 2013. Pro Anglers in attendance at the first Bass Pro Shops PAA Tournament Series event on Douglas Lake will be able to vote in person at this event. Others will need to vote remotely by email or phone with the PAA Office during the voting period.
To make a nomination or volunteer to serve, contact the PAA Office at (270) 527-2030 or email Lisa Bell at lisa@fishpaa.com during regular business hours. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CT.
