Looking for some help. Went out Tuesday morning, marked fish still no bites. Tried lures up top and anchovies low. I just sat and watched stripers jumping around my boat. Any advice would be helpful. I just can't figure out what will get me that elusive bite.

all about the time of day, lure color, and water conditions. All I do is troll, and if the lure I am trolling isn't getting hit, change the color until you find the one they want that hour. When I say hour, I have been able to keep catching fish from morning until night by switching my lure when it seems the fish turn the lights out.

Thx for the info. I will try to change it up. I just get frustrated watching the fish splash my boat and have no clue what they are going after on the surface.

[cool]Those fish jumping around you were probably gizzard shad. I was out on monday in the wash in a tube and had them jumping everywhere. When the stripers start boiling you will know it.

Tonight is our Striper Club meeting at Bas Pro Shop - 7PM. Stop by and ask some members for advice. Upstairs in the old fine gun room now called the conservation room.
March is the start of our new season.

Tournaments are also $30 with big fish options.
Kids fish tournaments for free until age 16. Gift cards are awared as prizes for juniors.
The tournaments are the Friday thru Sunday following the Thursday meeting.
Catch all the Stripers you want (following NDOW rules)
Then sort thru your catch and pick out your four biggest fish.
Then bring them to the weigh-in on Sunday, Noon till 1PM.
You can only weigh your (4) four biggest fish, one of those fish can also be entered for big fish that day.
We also will have non-member options for fishing tournaments. Bring a buddy (member sponsored) and a few "open" tournaments. The Whizzle won an open last July.

Do you have a meeting every month? I own a house down there and plan on being there around mid April and if you happen to have a meeting during my visit I might try and attend. I love striper fishing and when I move I plan on learning lake mead. Attached is one of my better ones. Ron
