Wondering if I can get some advice from you guys there in Utah. I am in Idaho but I have a brother living in North Salt Lake. We are planning on making a trip in may to go fishing with him and our target is Tiger Trout. Anybody have suggestions on places to go and what flies work well for tiger. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I would second the Uintas. I was throwing royal wolfs on top and they seemed to enjoy those.

there will be 4 of us all with pontoons with no motor or anything. all will be throwing flies and such. we thought about scofield but its another two hours of driving after 4.5 hrs of driving just to meet my brother. we were hoping to find something a little closer to north salt lake if possible. anything to the north?

I would try Vernon Reservoir. They have planted tigers in there and they get pretty big. You might be lucky to catch one of the rarer big browns that I've heard is in there. I trolled with a black egg sucking leech last year and had something big snap me off.

As Koch mentioned East Canyon is a good place Rockport has Tigers.
Theres Causey Res that might be closer to you Ive never caught a Tiger out of there only bows but there in there.
Awesome place to float no motorized boats so floaters get the the entire lake to themselves.

Rockport and East Canyon are the closest.
Next would be the Uintas i.e. Mirror Lake.

I wouldn't plan on the Uinitas even with the below average snow pack this winter up there. Road might be open that early but there will be limited if any open water unless it really warms up unusually quickly this spring. Plus the early open water isn't the best for tigers. Great time to target golden trout possible but they're all dinks.
