I went there 2 days ago on my motorcycle to check it out and it is trying to thaw. There was about 35 feet of open water all along the north shore so it won't take long if this warm temp keeps up.

Thank you, guess maybe a week from now I'll be able to troll again. That will be fun. Thanks again. J

who you kidding? You're always trolling!
Nabbed a couple slough bass last Friday, then a river Crappie yesterday. Slow going - wish I new where the Walleye liked to cuddle up. So - that sounds like purdy LONG board to get out to the "ice". Wondered if last night's big wind might have done the work. Yup - I've tossed my wool sock, need to pack up the short poles, but keep some ice-jigs for frisky early panfish, and friends! Snow if off the boat-tarps, so assuming we don't get any MORE!!! might be mixing up some fresh gas! I think I need to work the downriggers this year! Wonder how long till the Pig is thawed and launchable? So - J - you gonna school me up on the Big Bear adventures? Talk about trolling! (or deep jigging)

Sounds like you're finding a lot more fish than I have lately. But in two attempts I don't think I've got an hour of fishing yet. Met Tiger the other night must have been close to 4 feet long. Then his little brother came by as well. Holy cow those muskies are big fish. Don't know if I want to waterski in that puddle anymore.
As far as schooling you on Bear Lake I'm afraid I'm just a fellow student but it would be fun to catch a couple classes. I'd love to do some deep trolling for big fish. Lets see if we can get a spring trip in. The pig would be fun also, those browns and cutthroats are nice fish plus a bunch of Kokanee for dessert it's a fun change from cats and slimers. But I still need to find my wiper so I've got to hit Willard this spring. I need to find out if I'm really starting to figure walleye out a little or if it was just a fluke last year. I love spring to early summer fishing. I'm excited for another great year. On your walleye honey hole, I wish we could find a spot like they have going at Willard now but I don't have a clue where the locals try to spawn. I've tried all the rocky banks I know of and still never had a bump this time of year. Guess I need to really try looking and see if I could find them. I don't like picking on the spawning fish, but it would be fun to see what kind of numbers of fish are in here. Well catch ya later J [signature]
