So I am gonna head up american fork canyon to fish the lake and river and just curious on fly selection. Riverdog... from past posts I see your pretty familiar with the area, any comments? Just your typical princes, hares,pt nymphs all you need?? I have gotten into a pretty big soft hackle binge lately so probably be throwing some of those as well. If it is at all similar to big cottonwood any attractor dry with a softie for a dropper will catch fish. (been killing it at BC with that combo!)

Yes this time of year just your typical nymphs work well. Don't be afraid to throw bigger ones if you want. Dry action is sporadic a best this time of year.

For the creek use Black Gnat, Blue winged olive, egg pattern,
For the lake #4 or 6 black woolly bugger, olive and black leech.
If you want to have a productive day fishing toss on your sinking line and get in your float tube or toon if you got one. Shore fishing on lake is alright but not as great as it can be in a tube or toon.
