Bass Spawn at CJ??

Fished both days for bass this weekend at CJ Strike. Both days were good. In the main lake it's hard to keep the trout off. Was fishing crankbaits and jerkbaits. Water temperature was 46-50 throughout the lake both days.

I've never fished CJ this time of year so I'm curious about when the smallies usually spawn. I saw one 14" fish cruising in about a foot of water kinda peeking around. Seems very early but I thought I'd ask - what temp do they usually start hitting the beds here?

Still way too cold. They're probably making feeding forays. As the water starts to warm up, biological activity starts to speed up in the shallower areas first. Plankton starts to grow, bugs start to hatch, minnows move up to feed and the Centrarchidae species move in to feed on them and scout out areas for spawning.
