South Fork Of the Boise
#1
Just got back from the South Fork and we had a great time. There were a few hatches that brought the fish to the surface and action was great with dries. At 12:10 they were black midges and then at 4:00 they were blue winged olives. The only place the fish were sipping the bwo was between two great big rocks on the far side of the river. We waded to within 4 inches to the top of our waders in order to get close enough to fling our flies over. There were about 5 to 8 big fish sipping up the naturals. We landed two, but missed quite a few over a 40 minute stretch. Boy they were beautiful males that were getting in the spawning mode. Their red sides were incredible! Overall we had a great time.

Don't forget the river closes the first until memorial day above the bridge.
