Any recent Gorge info?

Heading up on the 11th-12th to target some Rainbows, probably fishing Sheep Creek and towards the dam. Anyone know if the water in Sheep Creek is muddy from run-off? or up towards Carter Creek? Thanks

Water is a little stained in the afternoon, but not bad yet. Still cold at night, so just mid elevation run-off so far. Carter still had ice in it as of Friday, and Cart creek still did today. Sheep creek is open.

Rainbows are stacking up in the canyons though, on shallow points with mixed rock and flooded brush and even some deep fish (40-60 ft) feeding on zooplankton. We did good today casting jigs with an erratic retrieve. Jigs that worked were marabous in brown w/ orange and smelt colored Gulp minnows on a Tubedude special jig head. Many of the hits came on the drop, so keep a tight line. We caught some small lakers while targeting bows.

Water temp was 44F in some of the canyons/coves and 40F in the main lake (midday temp).

Hope it helps and good luck! Ryno
