While fishing out there I know beavers are not something you think about when you think of any dangers while fishing. Last year on the Jordan River trail a beaver chased me and my brother out of a fishing spot if we would of fell we could have sustained serious injury. Yesterday though a beaver killed a man in Belarus. While trying to snap a picture of a beaver the man was attacked and it bit him on the thigh severing a major artery. A cub scout was attacked earlier this year by a beaver which bit him in four different places. I have kids and they love to wander when fishing, so if you do too seriously warn them about getting close to animals. Also posted on youtube this week is a Russian man taking video of a beaver attack in Russia. Watchout man these things are aggressive! Heres that video as well, its a good one because you can see just how aggressive they can be! There faster than you would think on land!

Looks like I need to buy a gun or maybe a new sharp poacher knife . Shall watch out next time I'm on jr. I've seen a few beaver but none of them attacked me yet.

Any wild animal you should keep your distance from. They may look cute and cuddly but they don't act that way.

Beavers can get huge too. I've been lucky so far, but they've gotten closer than I'd like.
I still appreciate their work, mostly.

I saw a monster sized beaver on a river in Montana once. I stayed my distance as that thing looked like it could take on a pack of coyotes and win.
Attacks maybe on the rise but stupidity is also on the rise. That cameraman was harassing that beaver to say the least. Harass any wild animal and it shouldn't come as a surprise that they attack you.

This, although stupidity is universal. We've all done something.
FFL, I think a walking stick would be about the right choice. Knife vs beaver would be about even odds if you ask me. He already has 4 self sharpening chisels, better mobility, and rodent hide is very tough but loose. He's got you on the "grab and stab". I prefer the "step back, hard whack". Worked on the badger that came for my boots when I was trying to get a better look.[crazy] [:p]

Hahaha, and also make sure they're prohibited from swimming/peeing in Wasatch front lakes while we're at it.[sly]
