Muskrat, Chickamauga, crappie - 2 TARPS for Deb, 4/15/13, Debbie
#1
Debbie and I are trying to catch up on our crappie trips after she hurt her shoulder and she really made up for lost time today. We fished from 9:45 am until 3:15 and caught 64 crappie /1 Rock bass / 2 bream / 1 yellow perch. Debbie caught all of the larger crappie - a 14.75 inch...a 14 inch...and one a "smidge" over 13.5 inches. She also caught a rock bass / yellow perch and "many" more crappie than I did. Almost every crappie was "well" beyond keeper size and we think of the 64 crappie at "least" 55 were keepers ! We both used 1/32 oz. orange Road Runner jig heads on Outlaw Special / Ghastly Minnow Scent Wigglr's and Blue Ghost baby shad. Deb used the Outlaw Special the whole time and never changed because she didn't need too I guess. The fish were caught in 3-8 feet with most in about 6 feet. Water temperature was 64-67 and most of the fish were caught before noon while it was cloudy but the bite was still fair after it got sunny to keep us fishing longer. We caught all of our fish within a 100 ft. area or so. Sorry we didn't enter Candi's "canine" tourney yesterday but we did make a small donation earlier in the week so I hope that will keep us out of Candi's "doghouse" - no pun intended. emoPoke
