Shame on Congress
#1
I've always been conservative in my thinking-Republican almost. Right now I am absolutely ashamed of our Congress. It just eludes me how supposedly intelligent people can let a silly little thing like party affiliation cloud their thinking to the point that they act like mindless (call them whatever foul thing you'd like).
A simple thing like a background check to be able to purchase ANY firearm won't in the least get in the way of a law abiding citizen. It just MIGHT stop another deranged person from getting one and it sure won't help the scum of society to obtain one. Who knows, backgrounds just might save a life or two??????

SHAME, SHAME, SHAME ON CONGRESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shame on those parts of congress and the president for trying to put more restrictions and laws on people that have done nothing but abide by the law in the first place.

Omygawd! You just don't get it do you? Nothing would have helped those Sandy Hook kids but, maybe, just maybe, background checks might prevent another such tragedy. If a background check won't hinder you - what the he-- is your problem?

My problem is it will hinder me. It will hinder my kids, it will hinder my ability to loan a buddy a rifle to hunt with. AND MOST OF ALL, THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO TRACK THIS AND THAT IS FULL OUT REGISTRATION OF FIREARMS! Please don't tell me you didn't think of that, the Dems sure have. YouTube Pelosi, Feinstein, Bloomberg or any of the other half wit morons who state publicly they want to ban all firearms. Their words out of their mouths. It's pretty easy to understand.

Why didn't Obama and Holder ask for back ground checks for the the Straw buyers in Fast and Furious? Obama sent hundreds of guns to mexico to kill Mexicans and Americans alike. But Obama and Holder are above the law in their eyes.
Obama feels that laws are only for the little people. Ron

You miss the agenda...

They don't want to make it so illegal people can't get use the second amendment. They want to control all guns. Don't forget Boston. Don't forget how we gained control of this country over tyranny.

If you give that up you give up everything. Give them an inch and they will take it all.

I'm not republican or democrat. I am an American. I lost family on both sides in the civil war. I have rich family in the north and poor in the south.

I think the right side won because no one should be slaves... (shit I went off trac)

Ok about the republicans. You think they care about your rights?

Ok the Democrats. You think they care about your rights?

They are politicians. All they care about is getting richer.

I really don't see how we can change anything right now. I liked your original post. I hope I brought some light into this discussion.

I am a white male with a black wife by the way and everyone hates us. Why? If I had married a Oriental girl, lets say chinese or japanese no one would have said a word.

Her decendents are from Africa ... A Japanese girl is from orient, not japan... same thing...

Guns the same thing.... government don't want you armed .... They want you dumb too and hate races..

There is only ONE race ... the Human Race and we have the right to bear arms against anyone that will harm us...

INCLUDING GOVERNMENTS...

I've said my peace.

Nothing would have helped those sandy hook children? I entrust my kids every day to teachers to mold their minds and teach them, I would like them to have the ability to defend them with more than just their bodies as a shield. If someone in that school would have been packing, I guarantee there would have been less deaths or none at all since these psychos target gun free zones. Criminals will get guns regardless of mandatory background checks or not. Pull your head out, this is all about disarming America, plain and simple. Obama has armed guards and so does the rest of the washington elite, what makes them more important than us, we employ them? Those in Washington are a bunch of hypocrites, they could care less about you or me or even the victims of these tragedies, they only care about their agendas. There have been way, way more fatalities from knives than from guns, should we outlaw knives? The tragedy in Boston, which I am not making light of , was carried out using pressure cookers, nails, bb's and ball bearings, should we outlaw those as well? Do we need to register every time we buy bb's or buy a pressure cooker from walmart or nails from home depot? I say put trained armed service vets in every school to defend our kids, guaranteed this crap stops. Criminals prey on the weak and defenseless, they go where they won't be confronted with resistance. By the way the sandy hook shooter was nuts and his mother, who was a law abiding citizen and bought the guns legally never thought her son would kill school children, and her. Quit generalizing the crazies with the rest of us, you will never, ever stop bad people from doing bad things, all we can do is make sure that the good people have the means to defend themselves and others from the scum of this earth.

HERE HERE... EXACTLY.

If they take away our right to bear arms, they take away everything and we have no way to fight back against the ones they are trying to say this act is for.

The criminals will get guns but the honest people that need them for protection will lose. Good post bro.

If they pass this .... then we all will have illegal guns... because no one is going to give up their guns. It's part of humanity now. The only way to protect yourself and family. Yes some can buy them legally. Some like my little brother that charged with selling Marijuanna and it's a felonly can't. So he can't own a gun.

So when that thug enters his home and rapes his wife at gun point and kills his kids, just to bad for him...

**** THAT.

not gonna happen in America..

check your tone, that crap my tolerated on your board but not on the UT board - Koch

Sorry, geezer
But the way your thinking is what is wrong in this country.
Everyone thinks the goverment can solve or fix everything, when the truth is they can do neither. They need to get out of our lives and let us succeed or fail. But the goverment wanting more background checks is just a step in the wrong direction. W
Next they would want registration " what harm could it do" then it would be confiscation. So geezer I applaud the congressmen that stood for freedom and the constitution. Sorry just had to say it. HAVE A NICE DAY

Agree with you Geezer. Shame on congress. Worthless bunch. From the liberal ones who wanted extreem gun control measures to the conservatives that want absolutely no gun control. Time will reveal the impact of their inaction.

so many guns in this world ... you get it..

So you need a check to buy a LEGAL gun...

That's like making the vikings go before the king and say I am a part of your army can I have a sword please?

See how ***** this all is?

There are more guns than people in this world.

Does the American government really think they are going to stop anything with this act?

It's preposterous.

Hey you don't pick up that pike, sword and go sell it to another army..(ancient times)..... JUST LAUGHING at the absurdity of this act by America...

Are kids running the world today?
