jordan river pumphouse open!

Driving by the pumphouse on my way to work I seen the jordan river was filled up. Turned sharply and into the parking lot near the pumphouse and seen the water flowing! Time to get those big channels that will be near the shore!

nice been waiting for it to fill a bit, down here in town like 4500 south it was so clear and low we could see the big masses of fish spook on approach. i personaly like the jordan when it fills a bit from the runoff and then its game on

Damn, this is news. I have enjoyed the clear clean(ish) water and have been slaughtering the suckers the last two days. I guess I'm glad I got out while I could. The suckers are in pure sex mode, so spooking them isn't even on their radar. Had them swimming up to within six inches of my boots. White streamers with a red bead or an egg sucking minnow/leech in white have been the best.

Ha, funee. Been surprised how fish that can be real spooky at other times seem to be oblivious when dancing the lambada! Gues when they're thinking with the little head, the ears and eyes turn off. Frisky Spring Fishies!

ya know I wanted to see how clear the jordan looked in slc. I'm always fishing it nearest utah lake so I never seen it clear before!

just from looking at it and you didnt know it was more of a warmwater fishery you would think it was a good trout river to flyfish, i actually got 3 browns there in the last 3 months while it was down on my flyrod. its cool to see the structure of the river so when it rises you can put that towards how you fish.

Great point jazzperch Every year when the river recedes You get to see the shore line and see where the river dips in. You also get to see where the big catfish holes are and where they like to hide.

Do you know how many gates are up?...From my experience when all three gates are up it's nearly impossible to fish there...

Are they letting much out? I hit the jordan today and it was at most 5-6 inches higher.

On monday when I checked they had one pump openday the water is slow and high. The top of the river this morning looked liked a giant mirror with it bieng still on top! Today between 2-6 would be the perfect time to fish the jordan. I'm looking forward to reading some great fishing reports on this board over the weekend.

Hey can you give me the directions to get to the pump house? I have heard a lot of people talk about it but the only one I know of is blocked off by the rail road just off redwood by the veteran memorial. Thanks James

man its all confusing around there right now, with all the detours they make you take. so I wouldnt even know which way to take to get there three times in the past two weeks I went there and all three times it was a different route. even once the pump house was roadblkoacked I went around it and was escorted out by saratoga springs police lol.
