We were able to put the boat in at Alpine and fished down to McCoy creek. River channel is 8-10 feet deep starting out but you have to go slow and careful. We were in a 21' trophy.Cuts were in hot pursuit of the yellow kamalooper right from the ramp and the browns were hitting a jig with sucker meat out in the lake. We intended to go down and fish the edge of the ice but didn't make it that far. Blowout and Calamity were still iced in but there are some good cracks across the lake and it wont last much longer.

Thanks for the report. I went to look at calamity this afternoon after they bumped the flow from the dam and put the river off color. It looked like you could put a boat in but a wind shift could cut the boat ramp off again pretty easily. Good to hear they're biting'. My boat cover comes off this weekend!

The ice is off now. Should be good fishing for the browns. Caught a few off the bank pretty quick Sunday afternoon.

Fished West side from Blowout on 05/05 and it was on fire for the browns. They were really smackin the rapalas in the rocks about 10ft. off shore. One boat said they were gettin 'em on jigs too. Lots of people fishin from the bank and in boats. Don't have the docks out yet so kind of a pain to get in and out.
