Wife and I made a trip to Emmett and after breakfast at the Cold Mountain Creek restaurant (pick three items for $3.99 and some of the best coffee ever) we fished Sawyer Pond. I managed to catch a 4+ pound Largemouth on my jig. Naturally no camera and the cell phone was back in the car. I guess I could take a picture of my thumb as he tore it up good. We also fished Star Lane ponds but I think those are pretty much worthless. Use to catch some nice bass in there in the '80's. We hit Duff Lane pond in Middleton and we saw some huge bass cruising the shore way in the back but no takers. Fuller Pond in Meridian was a also a dud. All in all we had a great time just getting out and enjoying the nice weather.

One thing I forgot to mention, there was a radio-controlled seaplane club at Sawyer. There must've been 8 to 10 planes. It was neat to see them take off and land on the water. Those guys were really good. I have a heck of a time just trying to fly my daughter's helicopter in the house without crashing.

The Bluegill used too be good there in the spring time at Sawyer's Pond, did you see any making nests in the shallows?

No, I didn't see any fish up yet. I forgot to take my temp gauge so I didn't get water temps. I talked to one family who were fishing for bluegills but they hadn't caught any.
