Electric Lake ice off 5/4/13

Fished ice off at Electric Lake today. There were a couple small areas open near the dam. There is a large area open on the south end, but the road is still snowed in. Caught 14 using one of TubeDude's flies behind a bubble and a gold Kastmaster. Huntington is still totally frozen over and Cleveland has a small area open along the shoreline.

I bet it was cold up there, was there any skim ice on the lake when you got there?

Yes there was some skim ice near the dam. For the first hour, or so, I was wondering why I left my gloves in the car, but after that it was pleasant fishing.

Anyone know of the ice conditions this weekend? We went up 2 weeks ago only to find it mostly covered with ice. Is the boat ramp open yet? We have a very small boat and love this lake.

The road on each end still has snow blocking the access. The snow drifts should be completely gone by next weekend. I will post a report when I get back Wednesday.
