Snow pack levels
#1
Made a trip up to Quail Creek and Sand Hallow this past weekend for some camping and fishing. Got skunked on Quail Creek, but did pretty good on Sand Hallow.

I was surprised to see how little water was flowing through the Virgin River on my way through the gorge. I sort of recall it flowing like a real river this time of year in the past instead of a mere trickle that comes as goes from showing up above ground.

Has northern Utah had a dry winter this year, or has the snow just not started to come down yet?

There is still snow way up high. I have noticed the price river is running fast with run off. The Colorado is still low. I believe the San Jains and Rockies had it harder this year than we did.

The snowpack is at 67% of normal overall for Utah. Only NE Uintas and SE Utah are above normal :

I drove up Mirror Lake Highway today. Made it to the turnoff for Murdock basin which is roughly 8800 ft. Not a whole lot of snow below that left.
The upper Provo is having a bit of runoff but still fishable if cautious. Nothing like normal for these time of year.

Yes it is dry this year. Paste the address for a snow pack update.
The system updates at midnight.

Quicker and easier to read than any other snowpack website.
