Stink About Minks
#1
[cool]Had an article in the Phoenix paper this morning about a bunch of minks released by the Animal Liberation Front in Sultan Washington. Couldn't find a link to the local article but did find one on the net.

Interesting reading, about how vicious and predatory those valuable little buggers are. One of the points it brought out that a high number the released minks were dying because of being attacked and eaten by their own kind.

The "do gooders" really didn't do the poor caged beasties any favors by releasing them into a hostile and unknown world. Of course, that always seems to be the case when a zealous group decides it knows more about what is good for us than we do ourselves. Paid political comment.

What happened to the good ole' days when "ALF" was a harmless sit-com TV program? This group is actually under the impression that they were helping these critters. They helped em' alright! Helped em' suffer..[pirate] Thanks for sharing that TD! By the way, did you hear that PETA is planning on buy shares of stock in Outback steak house and Applebee's? No Kiddin'! They already own stock in Denny's and Chili's. Check it out: http://www.premiumpork.net/news/daily/689.html

Another thing that I find ironic about the ALF and their claims of cruelty is that it doesn't make sense at all that the mink ranchers would mistreat their animals before putting them down. These farmers are in the business of producing good looking, high quality fur. Why on earth then would they overcrowd their mink so as to allow them to fight with each other. What would happen? They would bite and scratch and tear each other up.. That is not how you produce a good pelt for fancy coats. And as a mink farmer would you starve the little critters? No, you would feed them well so that their coats are nice and healthy. And how are the mink put down? Well, nothing happens to them that would ruin the hide, like getting shot. So it is not logical at all to think that the little animals suffer a lot. Oh, did I say logic? And as far as not being free, those mink don't know the difference. They are all pen raised. All in all, not a bad life.

When the ALF "frees" mink they condemn most of them to a much more cruel death, usually by starvation. (with a lot of sarcasm) That's a whole lot better than living in cage. Oh yeah, those guys are really helping the mink. They are terrorists and ought to be treated as such.

Hey! I've been to Sultan! :-) This doesn't surprise me one bit.

My best friend is on his LDS mission up there and he was just barely transferred out.
