Went Friday, got there at 1 and the guys leaving said no one was catching, maybe a few small ones. I trolled up and back with only a couple hits, then as it shadowed I got 3 small trout on a rapala and wedding ring. Not much for fishing all day. Water temp was around 56. Pretty slow for some reason. Would have had better luck from the bank. Any thoughts? Im open for suggestions.

I fish from the bank for the most part. Have been up to Oakley on a overnighter in March and a couple Saturdays in April. I caught 2 nice fish in March and struck out both times in April. Fishing was slow from the bank for everyone else as we'll. I am not going to go back for a while and had some better luck at Magic the last time out. I fished with a worm and a marshmallow on one pole and power bait on the other. Most people that I have seen post on here about Oakley seem to fish from a boat and troll Oakley. Maybe that is why you didn't get any response. From looking on here it seems that people have had good luck trolling. My poor luck came from the bank and was 2-3 weeks ago. The last time out I did not see one fish caught from the bank.

When I troll Oakley i have been using Lindy Rigs with bronze paddles and red beads or the chartruse paddles with char beads and have also done pretty well on brown trout colord needlefish all being pulled behind pop gear and around 15- 20ft down. Smallest fish ive caught using this meathod was in the 3-4lb range largest being around 5-6lb hope this helps and yes having a boat helps ALOT! while at Oakley

Does anyone have any updates on Oakley, any walleye being caught yet? Thinking about heading that way tomorrow.
