Jordan River catfish

I spent a couple of hours last night fishing the Jordan River, and I think the warm weather woke up some bigger cats. I fished the Jordan 2 or 3 times earlier this spring and only caught tiny bullheads. I was expecting the same thing last night, so I was really surprised when my girlfriend hooked up with a 5 lbs. channel cat. I thought she was stuck on a log! It was my turn next. I pulled in a really fat 4 lbs. channel cat. It wasn't nearly as long as the one my girlfriend caught, but it had a massive gut on it. We caught a few more about the same size. We released all of them. It was a really fun night of fishing! I'm glad that the bigger fish are finally biting for me!

I wish I had some pics, but I really thought I was only going to catch bullheads, so I didn't bring my camera. I was fishing behind my apartment complex. It's pretty close to that little turn off by the bridge on Lehi Main Street. I'll make sure to get some pictures next time I hit the river.
