Well I finally made it for my first trip to SFCR! Place is beautiful a little breezy today but nothing bad at all very nice day. Still a big goose egg on the walleye but manage to keep from getting skunked with 1 perch and the wife caught a smallie while trolling with a walleye lure LMAO! Anyway thank you to those of you who helped me out had a blast with my better half even though it was slow fishing doing it with the ones you love just makes it that much better. I will deffinately be trying it again here reaallll soon. When i was pulling my boat out there was a dude pulling his boat out with his little boy and they had quite a few nice ones so i talked him in to giving me a walleye fishing lesson so now im ready to back and try again. I WILL SLAY THE BEAST KNOWN AS............WALLEYE!!!!! LMAO oh yeah THIS FORUM ROCKS.

Sounds like a great first trip. How did you manage to have no wind???? I am sure sick of the W word.

there was a bit of wind but just wasnt that bad maybe 10mph max with MAYBE a 15mph gust every once in a while then in the evening nothing is was dead calm beautiful. besides in my boat no wind is pretty much my only option lol.

I'm making it my personal goal to help you catch a walleye this summer. Last year a buddy of mine had never caught one either so I took he and his son out and helped them catch a dozen. Of course I didn't catch one but I definitely got them into some fish! I've attached a couple of pics from past trips below.

Wow see thats what im talking about the one that young man was holding would be enough for me im already hooked and i havent even caught one yet. Probably part of the reason im so determined lol.
