BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - AutoZone and B.A.S.S. have reached an agreement for AutoZone to be the title sponsor of the special editions of The Bassmasters TV show, Winning Ways, for the 2013 season.
AutoZone Winning Ways will debut Sunday, May 19 on ESPN2 from 8 to 9 a.m. ET, and again the same day on ESPN Classic from 10 to 11 a.m. ET.
"We welcome AutoZone as a new partner. Together we can make one of our most popular television productions even better," said Bruce Akin, CEO of B.A.S.S. "Anglers know they can tune in to discover exactly how Bassmaster Elite Series pros win events. Our viewers apply what they learn to their fishing, just like anyone with automotive aftermarket needs can turn to AutoZone for solutions."
"A title sponsorship of Winning Ways is a natural fit", said Brenda Hudson, Director of Marketing at AutoZone, which is headquartered in Memphis, Tenn.
"AutoZone is proud to team up with B.A.S.S.," Hudson said. "Many of our customers are big fans of B.A.S.S. and bass fishing. We feel 'Winning Ways' is an excellent place to show our support of this great sport. It's a win/win for both AutoZone and B.A.S.S."
AutoZone is the nation's leading retailer and a leading distributor of automotive replacement parts and accessories with more than 5,000 stores in the United States, Mexico and Brazil.
AutoZone Winning Ways focuses on the techniques and lures used by winners of Bassmaster Elite Series events. The show is hosted by TV personalities Tommy Sanders and Mark Zona, who also host The Bassmasters.
"We are excited to have AutoZone as the title sponsor of our premiere Elite Series techniques show," said Mike McKinnis, producer. "Having AutoZone on board will help strengthen the shows with in-studio branding and added graphic effects for the best bass fishing techniques show around."
Now in its seventh season, Winning Ways is a spin-off of The Bassmasters, the award-winning fishing show. Viewers of The Outdoor Channel, which re-airs The Bassmasters, have voted it as the No. 1 "fan favorite fishing series." In January 2012, the show took home the top award at The Outdoor Channel's annual Golden Moose Awards.
After the first AutoZone Winning Ways of 2013 debuts May 19, the show will re-air Sunday, June 9 on ESPN2 from 8 to 9 a.m. ET, and again on Sunday, June 30 on ESPN Classic from 9 to 10 a.m. ET.
The second edition for the 2013 season will first air Saturday, Sept. 7 on ESPN2 from 7 to 8 a.m. ET. Viewers can watch that edition again on Saturday, Sept. 21 on ESPN2 from 7 to 8 a.m. ET.
