Finally got off my posterior for bass- Mantua
#1
Don't get your hopes up, It was just a scouting trip to see how things were and how it would be for Sparky. Did fish a bit with sinkos from shore but it was way to mossy, etc. for effective presentation. Caught 3 dinks, promptly released, in 3hrs. This was the N.E. point and bay. No boats, toons or tubes so I figure if I use my tube, drop shooting, I'd do ok, maybe,, Any comments ?
The other alternative is the Pine. for smallies which has the advantage of no shore fishermen and much less garbage, at least where I go (N.W. an N. central Pine). Would much prefer smallies but the Pine has been bad for me in the public access ares. I sure would like to be convinced otherwise!!!!!!!!!!!

For sure at mantua right now if you take your tube next time you'll be able to get to down better fishing hopefully away from the weeds. But overall I'd suggest pineview right now I had some decent success with a buddy a few weeks ago fishing the shoreline from his boat.

Yyou wearing camo waders? (not to many people wear a hat like you) seen you at the point today, boy and I were in the red bass boat. we boated ton of 6-8 in bass couldn't buy a big bite.
Gills are on the beds and action is fast as it can be, we caught20+ in 30 min before we left. good luck

You should head north. The bass are shallow and active at our old favorite north of the border spot. I caught 61 in the 12-16" range on Tuesday.
