Taking a couple with me to Ririe Wednesday evening, she just bought a pontoon and wants to try it out. Does she need to register it? Do you have to have a PFD. What does she need? I don't want to see mister F&G officer write her up the first time out. Thanks for your input.

IF she doesn't have a motor she doesn't need to register or licence it. SHe does need a life vest and a whistle. A pair of flippers and waders is a good idea.

No she doesn't have to register it. Only if you put a motor on it. If it is over 10' long however, she will need the invasive species sticker.
You always need a PFD as on any boat. Things to have, whistle or a horn, a tow rope, oars, and a light like a flash light a good thing
Remember too, much easier and more effective to row backwards.
Make sure the oars are adjusted right. With oars straight out to the side you should have a 6" or better space between the ends.
Fins are very important, but not required. Waders for the colder months or water with swimmers itch, but you only need hip waders.
