Finally got a chance to take Eric and his boy (Little E) out for some drop shot cattin. Got on the water at 7:30 and fished until 10:30 or so. Pretty slow day. 45K is waaay too much water to drop shot for the cats and I was not able to fish my favorite summer spots due to the flow, but we stuck with it and boated 11 blues and 2 channels. Took a break from cattin to case some bass and got 4 spots and Eric got a nice 3.25 lb LM on torpedo. Hit the crappie dock to let Little E get some crappie and boated 8. Also picked up 2 rock bass.
Nice day to be on the water. 28 fish in 3 hours seems like a lot but it felt super slow. Water temp was 79 or so. All cats came on drop shot Gulp minnows, crappie on 1/32 oz chartuse baits, and the bass came on topwater. Biggest cat was a blue around 9-10 lbs.
