I was fishing Lindon for Carp and/or LMB when my line took off. I thought it was Mr. LMB, because that's exactly how they usually take it, so I set that hook like a banshee. I was pretty sure it was a tail-hooked carp, and after 20 minutes, I finally had confirmation: not a Carp.
Black/Chartreuse woven Larva Lace wooly bugger. Best fly in my box this year, no doubt about it.
Got a bunch of Bluegill/Sunfish in a feeder stream, a Goddard Caddis with a Hare's Ear dropper was the ticket. Only hooked into one carp though, and he got off while I was attempting to net him. Sometimes a massive leader is a divantage to a guy who doesn't know how to fish them properly...
