Cleveland & Salt Creek
#1
Fished Cleveland Reservoir Saturday for about four hours. Initially tried jigs and woolly buggers on my fly rod, but changed to nymphs after no takers. Within two minutes of changing, I caught an enormous rainbow that I measured to be about 20 inches, and fat as could be (I wish I had a picture [Tongue] you'll have to take my word for it) I had another one on only minutes after releasing that last one, but he got off. The wind began picking up which affected my float tube mobility, and after an hour or so of sporadic bumps here and there (as well as fast moving dark clouds) I left and went to Salt Creek. Last time I went, I dare say I caught about 20+ but this time I missed about 7 and only landed 3. Oh well, it was a good day. I have my suspicions that this most recent front was to blame for the slowness, but this trip was well worth it.
