Worst trout fishing in over 40 years. I've had good days and not so good days, but this is the first time I have been skunked. One part-way to the boat, and that was that. Should be great fishing....54 degrees at the surface. This has been such a good time in past years. Never saw a net out. Thought about switching to perch fishing, but the guys that were fishing off Cottonwood were having to wade through so many very small ones, it wasn't worth it. And the ones they were saving weren't that big!! Mike

Thanks for the report. Never thought of you as one that gets skunked Kodiak. I guess the pigs are flying today. [bobhappy]

Thanks for the info, dtabboyz. Yes, the bank fishermen were catching some trout at Cottonwood....all the recent plants. I wanted larger trout, so fished across from the Air Force ramp, my go-to spot. Watched the guys on the hump, but they were not doing at all well. We did try for perch in the main lake, by the pump in the area I was trout fishing. Nada. We kept finding dink perch on our trout rigs when trolling.

Went bass fishing today at CJ. Hooked more trout than bass I believe. Found huge schools of small perch in the main lake. PM me if anyone wants details on the trout.

Catch at big bass? Maybe a Huddleston swim bait is in order.
