Cache valley?
#1
Hey guys my names mike, I'm an avid fly fishermen from Southern California. My dad recently moved to the cache valley so I'm up here for a couple weeks. Anybody have any advice for me? Or maybe want to meet up and fish?

Try Blacksmith Fork above the dam about mile marker 16 for prespawn browns and whitefish. Glowbugs and nymphs. Water will be gin-clear so be stealthy. If they're spawning, be careful and stay off the redds.

Good luck

Any particular nymphs? I fished it yesterday to no avail. Do you fish it with and indicator?

Glow bug with GBHE, brassie, or Pheasant tail. 16 or 18s. And I am an old style guy, lol. never fish without an indicator. I always use ginked up poly yarn. fish are spooky up there, you're gonna need to be making 40 or 50 foot casts and letting her dead drift, I have no idea how to do that without and indicator.

Good luck, Ed

No, I moved away a couple years ago. Flyfished in Utah for 30 years or so and have a few favorite spots. Since you asked, I thought I'd share that one with you. Be nice to the whitefish while you're there.

How could anyone move away from here? It's so perfect. Thanks again man. The white fish will eat the same bugs as trout? Never fished for them
