Exceptional fishing can be found at Walker Lake. The fish derby held on Nov. 29 produced some good fishing. A boat angler can expect to average 7 fish per trip and a shore angler about 3 fish per trip. Green colored spoons are working best and boaters troll them about 10-15 feet deep over deep water (bottom depth 50-60 ft deep). It was common for some angers to catch up to 20-25 fish in a day. Shore angers throw spoons along areas with steep banks such as the Cliffs or Sand Point. Sizes of fish caught range from 17 to 21 inches which weigh from 1.75 to 3.5 pounds.
