Starvation and the Berry
#1
Had the bug to get a big starvation steelhead so headed there with a friend of mine and my nephew. Got there at 8 am and headed straight to the inlet Seen one guy hook up in a boat in Saleuratus. We got by the inlet and fish on in 17' of water. High hopes and as always, disappointed after that. Threw tube jigs, lures, spinners, you name it, to no avail. Seen a LOT of shore fisherman with their hands in their pockets and disappointment showed wether they wanted it to or not. Seen a few boats and though we didn't talk to any we didn't see anyone else hook up. Moved to Rabbit and tried there for 45 minutes then decided to hit the Berry.

Swung in Soldier Creek working our way from the ramp to the dam and ended up in the same spot as Wednesday and same lure and hammered the little bows. Nothing of size and nothing to write home to mom about but the 8 year old nephew had fun catching fish after fish and so glad we stopped at the berry. Left the lake around 2.

As for good deeds, we saved a duck that was caught in fishing line after getting pecked a few times and we saved a guys day/boat since it came untied while we was unloading it solo and failed to have it tied to the truck when backing it in. It was a good 100 yards from the ramp and too cold to swim Wink Better be some big fish waiting for us the next trip. Boat is winterized and done for the year. Bring on the ice.

Well done Hadley. Curious how you did this, it appears you didn't have any type of boat with you.
