Mantua 11/11/13
#1
After realizing I'll never catch perch at Willard, I decided to go check Mantua. There is not even a remote chance of ice up there right now. However, the weeds are dying and I did mange two decent rainbows and a bunch of dink tigers around the inlet. (All on a spinner) It's still very shallow, but it's no longer 50 yards until you hit an inch of water. The back side near the holding pond looks good, but nothing was biting curly tail grubs, worms, rapalas, or spinners. I could see bass in the holding pond, but they wanted nothing I was offering. It's pretty cloudy with the weed die off, but if you want to match the hatch for around 3pm there, let me know and I'll drive over and let you scrape the 4 lbs of bugs off my hood. There was someone out there with a boat, but I didn't ask how they did.
