After last week's success on the Smallmouth bass at Tims, Rick and I just had to get back out there again today. Beautiful day. Not a cloud in the sky and wind didn't pick up until late morning. By that time, we were both tired and ready to call it a day. It was so good to see Mallardecho (Bill) out there this morning. Thank you for the Smallmouth baits, Bill. I owe you one.

emoBigSmile

We had more bites today (10) than last week, but caught less bass (3). Go figure. emoScratch 3 Smallies landed, 3 pulled off after a fight 1/2 way to the boat, and 4 missed hooksets. Rick was uttering 4 letter words and me being an old ex sailor, didn't hear anything that I hadn't heard before. I must confess that the language has improved very much over the past year or so. Keep working on it, Rick. Proud of you. 1 non-keeper Smallie around 16+ inches and 2 keepers. All fish released of course.

Fish were caught about 25 feet deep on gravel, chunk rock bottom on structure. Wish that we had landed everyone that did bite our jigs today. I'm getting to like this type of fishing. Waiting so long for the jig to hit bottom is a lot like crappie fishing on a delta structure on Chickamauga. I want to hit a day when they bite like a crappie school in a feeding frenzy. Woo Hoo. emoDance emoFish

Thank you for taking me fishing today, Rick. You don't know how much I appreciate it. Looking forward to you guiding me again. You are a pretty good guide, but you suck at setting the hook. emoPoke JK

emoBigSmile emoGeezer
