Scofield ice report
#1
Went up to scofield hoping for one last day from shore before the big freeze, but apparently I was about a day late. the entire thing was capped except for a small open patch in the middle that held some gulls. ice was.5-1" thick around the edges in the dam arm where I tried. basically made it impossible to fish effectively from shore. A couple of brave souls took a canoe out from the boat ramp trying to break through the ice and make it out to the open water, but gave up after about 40-50 yards. looks like we'll have to wait for the hard-deck to get back on the water.

Scofield Dam!... I was headed there tomorrow.

You just saved me a trip. Thanks! I am surprised it capped that fast. It was mostly open water two days ago.

Crazy! I had my boat all over the lake on Sunday. We were the only ones on the lake until 2 pm when we left. Not sure if anyone launched after that, but I may have been the last boat on Scofield this year. What a difference a day makes!

That's crazy I was up there on Saturday the 23rd and the whole main channel was open. I fished over in madsen bay and there was only some ice over by the docks. I was up there on Tuesday the 19th and there was more ice on Tuesday than Saturday. But that's good maybe in a week or two we will be able to hit it ice fishing. Just strung up my ice rod tonight.

Some guys wait to drill holes when others already been. Just got back from my second ice trip. I hope I get to hit hard deck on a different lake like scofield some day.

If its capped, there could be safe Ice by Saturday. I've seen it build 1"/day....especially if it stays clear and calm up there.

Especially when the high is only 34. and the low is 17 for the next week at Scofield and wind is only projected to be 3 mph. BRIING ON THE HARD DECK!!!

Make a friend with someone who owns an air boat and you'll get out to that open hole!
