Open House On Iowas Burlington Street Dam Project April 29
#1
The future of the Iowa River surrounding the Burlington Street Dam will be discussed during an open house on April 29, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., in the Social Hall, Robert A. Lee Recreation Center, 220 S. Gilbert Street, downtown Iowa City.

The project will explore opportunities for dam hazard reduction, improved river access, and whitewater recreation in the vicinity of the Burlington Street Dam. This project is a component of the Downtown and Riverfront Crossings Master Plan.

The evening begins with a presentation by the McLaughlin Whitewater Design Group. Following the presentation, the public is encouraged to stop by information stations to learn more about renovation concepts for the dam and provide input to Iowa City staff.

The Iowa DNR staff will be on hand to take comments from the public and answer questions about the project.
