Don't know for sure not much snow out here in soda but a little wind and some snow out on government dam road can make it hard to get threw I'm heading there on Saturday but just to the dike

Love to know on the roads there.

You might consider using the Simplot road out of Fort Hall. A couple of turns to make, so look at the map carefully. Also the little stretch of Portneuf/Presto has some rough places. But it doesn't have that steep section that Lincoln Creek Rd has. It may just depend on drifting. Don't go on the Narrows Rd or the Graves Cr cutoff road, both are small and little used. The Narrows Rd comes in again a mile or so after the turn at the railroad tracks (right at the RR tracks). The Narrows Rd "Y" (not marked) looks like you should go straight, but you take the "Y" to the left. The Graves Rd is the one straight ahead at the Portneuf -Presto "T". Use Portneuf Presto to link to Lincoln Cr. Clear as mud! [laugh]

Good luck, and I hope you don't have to do any shoveling to get out!! [:/]

Let us know how the road looks if you make it out. Went out just over a week ago and there was hardly any snow. Drove up through soda springs because we thought the other roads would be snowed in. When we got up to the Res. there was hardly any snow so we fished till dusk and decided to try the Bone road back. There were a couple icy/snowy spots, but we did just fine in my van. I would imagine a truck with 4 wheel drive and some chains could make it just fine, unless it has been totally dumped on with the recent snow we received.

The deepest snow I seen on the road , maybe 2 inches . You can drive around the lake no problem . 4 of us fished 4 hours . Not one fish iced , missed a few bites . Lost one good fish at the hole .

It has been slow fishing for us as well.......?

The fish and game has been lowering the amount of fish that they stock in the Blackfoot. They used to put over 50,000 but, this year its less than 5000 planted fish. I have ice fished the Blackfoot alot in the past few years and I would like to stress to anyone that goes to watch out for the springs. There are alot of places that never freeze or will freeze just the top. I have hit slush water on my snomachine several times. There have been times that I thought I wasn't getting back out of where I just went. Its honestly one of the most dangerous places that I have ice fished so be carefull......
