Ice fishing question
#1
I really really really want to attempt some ice fishing on Arrowrock this year...I tried to go last winter but it was too late in the season and the ice had already retreated away from the bank and was unstable...has anyone actually done this successfully up there? PM me if you are worried about losing your famous winter bastion to the masses...I have a good lead that there are plenty of Perch to be had there...now finding them may be an issue...lol

Never tried it, but I'm alway's up for something new. I'll look into it and get back to you could be fun pulling Kokes through the ice.

I have heard that the ice can be very unstable there but where I have in mind I would think would be somewhat ideal considering...F&G told me a year or so ago that there were a ton of perch in there...I have actually caught two on Koke gear believe it or not. We tried to go last year but the ice was already deteriorating so badly late in the season we couldn't get on it...Since I havent heard of anyone targeting perch up there I would think maybe there might be some pigs in there.

That's the key knowing where to go, I stay away from LP because of that moving water, it is not good for ice fishing.
While I love catching Perch I would have to try for Kokes as well. Never heard of anyone ice fishing it either, you could be right there could be some hog Perch hiding in there.

i would probably avoid arrowrock as well. i have fished year round there in good years out of a boat. the only spot i would try would be the skinny section by the dam that never sees the sun in the winter. as far as perch i wouldnt expect to catch many if any.

i would also stay away form arrowrock just to much change in the water levels up their the only way i would ice fish it again is if it got super cold for a long time and the ice was at least 8 inchs not worth it to me
